What is Acrobatic Gymnastics?
You’ll begin by getting to grips with the basics of gymnastics and as your strength and technique builds you’ll become part of a team and start creating show-stopping routines. You and your partner/partners will work together to perform balances and tricks, whilst showing off your individual skills and tumbling talent. You will be able to enter competitions if you reach a certain level and can take part in shows such as Gym Fusion. Of course, you can take part just for fun and fitness if you prefer. By learning as a pair or group, you can have a lot of fun developing your skills, strength and coordination. What better way to show off your inner performer?
What is Tumbling Gymnastics?
Tumbling is a truly breath-taking type of gymnastics. It’s all about somersaults, flips and twists- and linking them together. It’s easy to get started with tumbling gymnastics if you’ve already had a bit of tumbling experience. It’s also a whole lot of fun! You’ll start by learning how it feels to perform simple tricks on a sprung runway and then, as your technique and confidence develops, you’ll learn to perform some amazing sequences. There’s also the opportunity to compete in different categories and age groups once you’ve achieved a certain level; but of course you can also tumble just for fun!
What is General Gymnastics?
General Gymnastics begins with recreational gymnastics where you are encouraged to learn and experience a variety of basic movement patterns across the range of gymnastics disciplines. You’ll be involved in all types of gymnastics, so you can quickly find your feet and maybe even choose to specialise in one discipline. If competition is your thing, then we can provide opportunities once you’re at the right level. General Gymnastics is about ‘More Opportunities for More People’ and offers a wide range of experiences for participants and spectators while providing the opportunity to focus on fun, fitness, friendship and fundamentals. What is Recreational Tumbling Gymnastics?
This is the same as Tumbling gymnastics but with less concern about the finesse and more about safely completing tumbling moves, Encouraging safe movement of tumbling with the emphasis on fun, fitness, friendship and fundamentals. Undertaking Recreational Tumbling can lead into joining the Tumbling Squad if the gymnast has the desire. Sessions cost £4
What is Freestyle Gymnastics / Free Running?
Freestyle Gymnastics / Free Running is the non-competitive physical discipline of training to move freely over and through any terrain using only the abilities of the body, principally through running, jumping, climbing and quadrupedal movement. Promotes functional strength and fitness, balance, spatial awareness, agility, coordination, precision, control and creative vision.
It is a sport that encourages self-improvement on all levels, revealing one’s physical and mental limits while simultaneously offering ways to overcome them. Sessions cost £4
What is Artistic Gymnastics
Artistic gymnastics is a discipline where gymnasts perform short routines on four different apparatus ( the vault, uneven bars, the beam and the floor). Each one requiring elegant moves that show your strength, skill and control. Developing through from recreational level to competition level and creating some breath taking routines.
